Kain Ikat Sumba No.1
Weaving Sumba Ikat is a type of cloth originating from the island of Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara. The type and pattern of the cloth has long been known because it is unique based on the materials used, motifs and the manufacturing process which takes a relatively long time, which is 4 to 6 months for a wide woven cloth. Sumba Island itself is very beautiful and famous in the world as one of the most beautiful islands. But about the beauty of the island is an assessment of the 2000s, while the allure of traditional ikat weaving has been known for centuries, and continues to be maintained by Sumbanese women. They handle the entire ikat weaving process from selecting the motif, preparing the materials (threads, dyes), the weaving process to producing a piece of cloth.
